    Sharing Microsoft 365

I shared a copy of Microsoft 365 with one of my students, but OneDrive shows up in my name. Not very good for his privacy or mine!

All help will be appreciated by both of us.

Edit: Also, it hasn't given him his 1 TB of storage in OneDrive.

So, you went to office.microsoft.com and then signed in with your account.

You then went into Family, and said View My Family, followed by clicking on Add family member

It would then prompt you for an email or a phone number to send them an invite.

they would then get an invite with instructions to logon and install Office.

This all seem right thus far?

    Ummmm, Nope!

Don't look like I did it right.

Then it means you did not really share your subscription, but rather your account, which is probably wrong due to privacy reasons (it also gives full access to your onedrive)

I recommend that you change your Microsoft Account's password immediately to log out all devices and then set up family sharing as advised by pparks1 , that is the proper way to share the license with a family member, or the student, that is

Besides, I don't know if it applies to your case but I am also a teacher in secondary education and Microsoft has a contract with our government (+ the education system) that all students in primary and secondary education are eligible for free Microsoft 365 access with 1 TB of OneDrive space of their own. Select universities are eligible too, though not all.
The IT administrator of the school is able to create such accounts for the students, just like for us. This may differ from country to country but I am aware that the same program exists in many, many countries.

I just thought you might want to double check since it could make things much easier and you could help more students this way than what a family plan allows.

    Thanks, ish4d0w

Yep, I know what I did. We've already uninstalled Microsoft 365 from his machine, and I will figure out how to share with him. I think I'm safe, since he doesn't know the first thing about subterfuge.

Although I'm teaching Windows 10 in a senior activity and wellness center, I don't think we'd qualify as "secondary education". It would be nice if we did, though. I may check into that, since we get some kind of credit for every student who's in the class. Same for our genealogy classes.
