Best place to buy WORD ?

    Hi Guys

I have open office, tried Libre but must confess, although its been years, I think Word is my preference, but have stayed away because of price.

On net last week, I saw the Word program advertised as Home & Student around 20, but I thought that seems too cheap to be genuine, am I right.

I dont use letters and spreadsheets a lot but I seem to remember Excel and Word were very straightforward.

    Advice please

Two month ago I purchased Office 2019 Pro for $ 35.00 on line. Don't know how they sell it that cheap, but you only get an activation code and have to download it from MS. they give you the link for that. so far no problems.

    Depends on what you want
If you are happy with Word, Excel and Power Point online - and you can save the doc to your computer - it is FREE
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/micr...ne-for-the-web
sign in with your microsoft account
You will see that once you sign in - you can then icon it on the taskbar for ease of opening

You can buy a really cheap Office licence via eBay but check the code works with a download from a genuine MS server. My installations are still working after 3 years.

Cheap prices aside, the best place to buy software is a legitimate seller. Sometimes going cheap can get you more than you bargained for. I prefer safety and security over cheap

    My two cents.

As a recommendation, when you log into a OneDrive account, there is an option to stream a copy of Word and it's 100% free. You therefore, don't have Word installed on your computer....but you have the ability to use a feature limited version of Word. This might meet the requirements of the original poster.

As far as super cheap licenses go...you are essentially buying a volume license key, which is not intended to be sold to a person, but is likely going to work. At least, it will work for a period of time until Micorosft potentially catches it and disables that key. The question comes down to the end user and if you are comfortable with that risk and are willing to be out x amount of money if it gets disabled.

The other option is to get Office 365. It's $69 a year for an individual, and not only do you get the full Office Professional Suite and you stay up to date on the latest versions, you also get 1TB of disk space in OneDrive. You cannot get 1TB of cloud space cheaper than than this from google drive, Apple iCloud, Dropbox, etc. This is the way that I get Office.

Not if you verify before purchase that the key works with an installation from A MS server.

The point is as stated. What you do to verify or justify is a different animal
