There is no compression used in the ISO format. The total size of the files it contains is the same as the size of the ISO file, so you will need 325,026 KB. As I said, that will fit on a CD if you want to burn the ISO to a disk, or easily fit on a 1GB or larger pen drive.

You do realise what the significance of Bree's final remark was? - There's no need to burn the ISO to anything to be able to use it for an installation.
In file explorer, you can double click on the ISO,
this makes it appear as if it was an additional disk drive,
browse if necessary to find its setup.exe,
double-click on that to run the installation.

No; I didn't get that, so again showing my ignorance, what happens should I need to reinstall e.g. after a clean re instillation of Windows?

That means you need 1.5 GB of free space on the hard drive to install it.

    Minimum Specifications - Office 2007

    • Computer and processor: 500 megahertz (MHz) processor or higher.
    • Memory: 256 megabyte (MB) RAM or higher.
    • Hard disk: 1.5 gigabyte (GB); a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive.
    • Display: 1024x768 or higher resolution monitor.

After you do a clean install of Windows just reinstall Office 2007 and activate it with the same product key. Microsoft will see that it is being used on the same computer and activate it without a problem.

Also, don't forget to get and install Service Pack 3 for Office 2007.
    office2007sp3-kb2526086-fullfile-en-us.exe

I have done this many times with many versions of Office most recently with Office 2019. As a precaution I try to uninstall Office first if possible before I know I have to reinstall it.

    chipwood,

MrEd was just responding to the topic you raised. You had asked about what would need to be done after a clean install. Nobody is saying that you need to do one.

All you need to do now is the Office installation as explained in post #23

No luck with that, because I tried options both to add/remove items, or repair configuration failed.Office 20007 Home and Student lost; substitutes clunky, so...-did-not-config.gif

I downloaded the ISO for the CD in the Internet Archive:
Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student (12.0.4518.1014) (2006-10) [English] (CD).zip
I copied this to my old desktop computer with Windows 7 Home on it.
    I extracted OFFCE12.ISO from it .
I opened the ISO file and ran setup.exe
I had no problems installing Office 2007 with this.
Of course I can't activate it because I don't have a product key.
