That means you need 1.5 GB of free space on the hard drive to install it.

After you do a clean install of Windows just reinstall Office 2007 and activate it with the same product key. Microsoft will see that it is being used on the same computer and activate it without a problem.

Also, don't forget to get and install Service Pack 3 for Office 2007.

I have done this many times with many versions of Office most recently with Office 2019. As a precaution I try to uninstall Office first if possible before I know I have to reinstall it.

@MisterEd You mentioned a Clean Install of Windows. ATM that's the last thing I want to have to do. It looks like I need give up.

MrEd was just responding to the topic you raised. You had asked about what would need to be done after a clean install. Nobody is saying that you need to do one.

All you need to do now is the Office installation as explained in post #23

No luck with that, because I tried options both to add/remove items, or repair configuration failed.

I downloaded the ISO for the CD in the Internet Archive:
Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student (12.0.4518.1014) (2006-10) [English] (CD).zip
I copied this to my old desktop computer with Windows 7 Home on it.
I extracted OFFCE12.ISO from it .
I opened the ISO file and ran setup.exe
I had no problems installing Office 2007 with this.
Of course I can't activate it because I don't have a product key.
