Word 365 MSO 16.0.13628.20318

Hi!

I've been having a weird problem with delayed typing in Word 365 that only recently started happening.

Basically, Word suffers a bad case of delayed typing if certain fonts are installed. When I first noticed this problem I did a bunch of web searching and tried various things, but didn't have much luck. I also contacted Microsoft support and they had me a do a bunch of things I'd already done and they couldn't help.

After trying many, many things to troubleshoot this, I noticed that the problem only happens when certain fonts are installed. There's nothing wrong with these fonts as I've used them for years - on different PCs, different Windows versions, different Office versions - with no issue. But recently - maybe after an update? - this problem has surfaced.

The fonts in question: Adobe Caslon Pro, Adobe Garamond Pro, Amasis MT, Minion Pro, and possibly CCNearMythLegends W00. There might be others, but I haven't tried them.

Also, I don't have many fonts installed; usually around 200.

Also, also, these fonts are used in custom templates. Not sure why that would matter, but I figured I'd mention it.

Some of the things I have tried:
- rebooting
- check the event logs (nothing pertinent)
- uninstalling office, rebooting, reinstalling office
- uninstalling office with the removal tool, rebooting, reinstalling office
- sfc
- DISM
- check file/folder permissions
- check registry key permissions
- check services permissions
- check WMI
- check component stores and COM+
- check missing packages
- update Windows
- update Office
- update drivers

The only thing that I've done, so far, that has made the problem go away is uninstalling the aforementioned fonts.

Ideas?

Thanks.
