    Hi Wynona

Inside your Office account, for the machines it is installed on it should be showing the computer name.

To get computer name right click start, left "Run", type sysydm.cpl

In window that opens the full computer name should be listed.

    Attachment 320971
    Thanks, Ken.

    Well, one piece of luck!

I went to the HP laptop to get its ID, then checked on MS Office to be sure which version it had, and lo and behold, it asked if I wanted to add this device to an activated version of Office! I said OK, and it said Get Started, I clicked and now my Lappy is on Microsoft 365!

Now I gotta find where I stashed the 14" Lenovo lappy to get its ID and hopefully do the same with it. If it doesn't already have Microsoft 365.

Edit:P Found it right where I put it.

Little Lenovo is happily updating; she hasn't been used in a few months.

Cool. I also change computer name to something meaningful to me. Easier to zap one when needed.

Yeppers, I'm thinking about that too, but am a bit hesitant. Will Microsoft 365 recognize the change and tell me which of my 'puters Microsoft 365 is on. So far, I have two successful installations. I still haven't gone to the Microsoft 365 site Andre told me about. That's later after I've picked up my prescriptions.

Yup, but now I have to finish the journey! I'm not quite there yet. I still don't have MS 365 on the Insider partition.

    Good question Wynona.

    You could

    - write down the existing name of computer
    - change name and wait a day
    - check if account info updated.
    - then if needed go back and place the old name in.

I would also think that if you sign out of office and then sign in it will pick up what ever the current computer name is.

Good idea, Ken. I already have the computer IDs written down in my address book. All I have to do is change the name and write that down beneath the IDs.

Wynona, go to Office 365 Login | Microsoft Office and sign in with your mail that is connected to Office 365. Then click on your account picture (or initials) in top right corner.

Scroll down and check Subscriptions (Licenses). See if you have too many slots used. You can also sign out from devices there (old, unused), or install (fresh copy of installer) Office
Finally! I waited so long because I wanted to be sure there was nothing of the former Office 365 left on my account; that it had truly been scrubbed . . .

Then using the link you provided, I tried again and, wonder of wonders, it installed! I now have Microsoft 365 installed on my Insider partition!

Now I only have Little Lenovo to go; she's sitting over there patiently waiting for her turn.
