After reinstalling windows 10 i see shrunken down icons of office apps such as excel, outlook, powerpoint, word, etc. When i click on them they just open a new tab in microsoft edge.
Have you actually (re)installed MS Office separately (it's not actually part of Windows)?
If not, it's just click bait from Microsoft to entice you to buy and install. If you don't want it/them, right-click and choose Uninstall
i doubt that it is advertising because it does not bring me to a website, it just simply opens a new tab, i cannot uninstall for some reason either, when i do nothing happens
