    Office Fly Out Icon

Anyone know where to find the location of this "fly out" icon on the start menu?

I've installed Office 365 and it only appeared on one of the PC's and I like to on all of them. It saves a lot of space on the start menu.

    Hi SoFine409,

Those look like the Online apps. If you're looking for the Office 365 installs, they will be shown individually in the Start menu by alphabetical order.

Actually the large orange "O" icon to the right of that takes you to the web based apps, it points to a Google shortcut. The one I circled takes you to the apps on the PC. That's the one I'm trying to duplicate on another PC. Here are some screen images:
Before the subject icon is clicked:

    And after:

Usually you can click on an item on the start menu and open the file location but this one doesn't have that option. I'm really puzzled not only by why its only on this one PC out of 5 but there in the heck the icon itself resides.

So, did that solve? Did you find them?

    Thanks.

Yeah, I was thinking the online apps. And I don't use the orange "O" Sorry.

Anyway, I was also talking about the individual icons such as the one circled in red....

They also get installed when you install Office. And they open the files locally

    Thanks.

Those are Start Menu Groups, you create them yourself by dragging them on top of one another...

Actually, they come grouped like that... I never grouped any of them and all my PC's (4) running Office (365) has those grouped icons.

    Bingo, correct! Problem solved.
I wonder why the Office installer set up groups on some of the start menus and not others. It happened on only one of the five physical PCs but I noticed that it happened on one of the VMs that I was updating this afternoon. My guess is that it has to do with how the start menu is configured when Office installs. Never a dull moment in Windows-land always something to learn/relearn.

That’s what I don’t understand, why they were grouped on some of my PCs and not others. I even tried uninstalling Office on one PC and reinstalling it an still no grouped icon. It’s a head scratcher.
