Outlook 2019 changes year as I'm typing

I use Outlook 2019, the full application and not the subscription 365 version.

When I type emails, I'm finding that outlook is changing the dates I typed meticulously from 2021 to 2012.
I can't see why this is happening, but it is on every email I write.

Do others have this and what can I do to sort it, please?

Is the date setting correct on your computer?

If it is an old computer maybe the CMOS battery is getting low and affecting the computer's date.

    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, the date is set OK.
The cmos is relatively new as I changed it a couple of months ago.
No app is affected other than Outlook 2019.
I'm not dyslexic or anything and deliberately watched Outlook change my typed date of eg Sept 2021 in front of me, to Sept 2012.
Baffling, and it can't just be me who's experiencing this.

By the way, Ken, I used to work at HJ Heinz, in Wigan.
    We might have met, maybe.

Unlikely since I never worked there but my cousin worked there. Phillip Davies - he was a fork lift truck driver in a warehouse.

Small world. Good luck solving your Outlook issue. I don't use Outlook so can't offer any more suggestions. Sorry.

I'll try that, but of course Outlook is part of Microsoft Office and 365.

    Thanks.

I never went near the HJH warehouse. I was an operations manager.

I think also if you install or try and install Office 2019 on a Windows HOME edition it comes up with OFFICE/365 even if it is a retail version of OFFICE 2019. !! -- Works correctly on Windows Pro etc of course.

O.T but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Love those "Inside the Factory" programs from BBC / BBC World --- a few big ones from N.W England --- surprised there were any factories left --thought the whole economy over there was done by "Rapacious Banks / financial services " !!!!

    Cheers

    Check the autocorrect options.
    File menu,
    Options,
    Mail,
    subheading Compose messages,
    Spelling & autocorrect.

I've added "Date" to the autocorrect exceptions.
I'll let you know how I get on.
    Thanks.

HJ Heinz built Europe's largest food processing plant at Kitt Green, Wigan.

Sadly, it has been merged / taken over by Kraft, of plastic burger cheese, we won't close Cadbury's (oh, wait a minute, we will) fame.

The place is nothing like it used to be. Wiganers can be a peculiar lot, but I enjoyed many good friendships with them. Now, most of the competent people seem to have departed.

    Sean,

I assumed you would nose around autocorrect to see if there was an entry in it anywhere for 2021 [to change it to 2012].

I understand all about hideous American "Plastic Cheese" and the horrendous taste of Cadbury's chocolate after the business was sold to the USA -- used to love the original taste - especially the dark Bournville stuff -- now I buy anything chocolaty from Belgium -- might be a tiny country bit still has absolutely untainted chocolate - even if a little pricey (and great Beer as well) !!

Anyway enough of the "Masterchef" comments !! before they all get deleted.

As as Office 2019 is concerned - no probs with anything and I'm running several of the latest Windows builds as VM's.

An easy way to import stuff from other installs / machines just refer back to a few threads in this forum where I've shown the simple way to do it.

    Cheers
