    Sean,

I assumed you would nose around autocorrect to see if there was an entry in it anywhere for 2021 [to change it to 2012].

    That's the annoyance.
I haven't asked it to autocorrect anything. I tolerate the use of "Z" in place of the "S" I use in words such as "publicise" but haven't experienced date problems until this year.
When it wants to autocorrect, it usually just underlines the word I like and it doesn't. It's a step too far to actually change what I've written.

So it started after 2021 year kicked-in? If the issue does not happen with Word or other Office modules then it may be a bug in the Outlook module of MS Office. If so then it may get fixed at next Office update. Have you tried manually checking for Office updates rather than waiting until it auto updates?

I have Office 2019 and I go to File/Account/Office Update to do this.

I regularly update Office as you describe.
I never know what the "update" has actually done. Outlook is a mysterious application.
Yes, the problem has only started this year. If I type an email using the year 2021, it always changes it to 2012.
Now that I know about it, I read what I've written and change it back to 2021 and it then stays like that. It's just an irritation.
