It will soon be time to haul out the latest versions of either Lebre Office, Apace Open Office, any other well-established open office suite, or more than one -- install and use same.

I already use Office 2013 but when a repair shop installed a new motherboard, somehow they fouled up the Office installation and I have been using it no problems but not activated. I am now setting up a new PC and I probably will not be able to transfer Office from the old PC, therefore I am considering buying Office 2019 with Outlook, but I have seen there are many companies offering the product key for around £16 claiming it is all perfectly legal.
Has anyone bought one of these keys and were there any problems. I'm only a home user, not business, therefore I do not wish to pay the high costs of Office retail or 365. LibreOffice would be fine but I would like to keep Outlook.
I have bought several of these keys for Office 2016 / 2019 from UK eBay suppliers for less than £16. They are licensed for a single PC and the Office 2016 ones still work after 3 years. Always confirm with the supplier before buying that the key they supply will work with a genuine MS server to download the installation. I would not buy from a supplier who does not reply or requires use of a non MS server. Sometimes these keys pop up on Amazon who have a better refund policy if the key does not operate as claimed.

    Hi there
Still also using 3 copies of Office 2019 pro after two of years and zillions of Windows updates --I got mine from Amazon.

However like all these things it's "Caveat Emptor" -- so only use a supplier who will refund if the product doesn't work e.g Amazon and if there's any problems always pay with a CREDIT (not a DEBIT) card as if the product doesn't work the BANK / CC company has to refund you if product doesn't work --at least in EU/EEA area -- I'm sure places outside EU/EEA like AUS, USA, CAN, UK,etc will have similar rules.

Pretty well all the Office "Clones" out there aren't as good as Ms Office and don't have an email client and for at least for 2 products I use -- EXCEL and OUTLOOK 2019 they can't really compete at all.

I haven't yet found any decent email Client that is as flexible and nice and simple to use as OUTLOOK -- even Thunderbird is a bit of a mess and as for those web / browser based email clients -- usually advert ridden and usually also have a hideous GUI --roundcube is one of the better ones but still IMO hideous !!!

The nearest free clone that gives a passable rendering of EXCEL (at least if you don't use macros / vba code) is one that's rarely mentioned here but I've used its spreadsheet on LINUX and Ms EXCEL reads it perfectly in Windows. WPS Office -- for LINUX, WINDOWs,MAC etc

WPS Office - Free Office Download (Word, Spreadsheets,Presentation, PDF, Templates) for PC & Mobile, Alternative to MS Office

Thanks everyone, especially Steve and Jimbo for their advice. It does seem to make sense buying from Amazon. For the low cost involved, I shall have a go.

    Amazon behaves decently.
Amazon Marketplace traders do not necessarily behave decently.

Just had a look on Amazon and there's none available anyway. I shall check regularly.

    Hi there

    @sydh

Again though please AYOR - I'm not responsible if it doesn't work etc etc.

Note that Amazon UK still seem to have some offers -- take care though.

Since the UK left the EU I've found getting stuff from the UK into Iceland a bit of a pain at the moment. Not getting political since that was a choice for their voters --just saying as a FACT that it's harder for whatever reason to get stuff now from the UK into an EU or EEA (Iceland) country.

But there you are -- at least the GBP has dropped against major currencies so if you CAN get the goods they are cheaper if paying in typical currencies like EUR etc.

That's an Amazon Marketplace sale not Amazon itself. Terms of sale are different and the sellers are not vetted.

Amazon UK is not selling MSOffice 2019 for less than about £148 at the moment.

    Denis

£ began a gradual nervous rise after a low point in September and is now 4 cents higher against the € [i.e. an international purchase specified in £ now costs about 4% more € than it did in September]. Barring catastrophes, the currency exchange bargains are over.

I bought my keys from eBay UK suppliers for c. £5. I was prepared to suffer the loss if the key didn't work but all licences still work after 3 years.
