Microsoft Office 365, 2 installs on same device claim

    Hello WindowsTen Forum,

    First, some specs.

    • Microsoft Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.685 - 64bit
    • Microsoft 365 MSO 16.0.13530.20132 - 64bit

I have Microsoft Office 365 installed on 3 different devices. On my Microsoft account, it's recorded I have 4 installs, 2 of the installs are on the same device, but there is one install on this device. Not being specific, the records are as such:
    PC-01 Microsoft Windows 10 Home................Sign out

    PC-02 Microsoft Windows 10 Pro....................Sign out

    PC-03 Microsoft Windows 10 Pro....................Sign out

    PC-02 Microsoft Windows 10 Pro....................Sign out

I have thrice contacted Microsoft's interactive support, who instructed me, to log off both devices, online and on my device, reboot the device, then log on to Microsoft 365. It always comes back as such.

I'm offered 6 separate device installs for my account, yet I'm left with 2. It's not a tragedy, nor a show stopper, is there anyway I can get Microsoft's records to reflect the actual installs?

I have more than three times, signed out online, and on my devices, log on (just once), to no avail, I prefer not to again.

    Thanks and regards,
    - njc9

Sign out of Office one your device & online (if possible) & then uninstall Office, check to see if both devices still show. If not then reinstall Office.
If yes then have you ever installed a different version of MS Office 365, perhaps a trial version?

Another thought: Is there any other users of the PC which may have installed Office under their account?

    Hello Bastet,

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I have done this. I should of added as well (I did tell Microsft online support this too), all machines do have 2 accounts, an administrator password protected account, and a limited user account. I never work from administrator accounts.

For some reason, it's only the PC-02, that always ends up showing two installs on the one machine. I assumed that Office 365 was a machine/system install, which it is.

Anyway, not a show stopper, it's still my favourtie office suite.

    Thanks again Bastet.

    Hello njc9,

Is the Office installation on both the Admin account & the limited user account? If not then it’s certainly strange.
I’m sure it’ll rectify itself at some point.
