    Office 2016 (Home and Student)

Can anyone explain to me why I have duplicate entries for my office programs in my start menu? For one entry, the icon is normal in size and for the other entry, the icon is tiny in size.

Also why do all (4) programs for Office 2016 appear tiny in size in the control panel?

I just installed my Office 2016 Home and Student. I went on the internet, logged into my Microsoft account, went to my subscriptions/services and installed my Office 2016. Note, I selected options and then selected to create an offline installer that is 64 bit. After the download, I installed office 2016 and activated it with my product key.

I only signed into my Microsoft account when I went on the internet, in order to download the offline installer. Meaning, I'm not required to sign in to my Microsoft account to use Excel, Power Point, One Note and Word.

    It can be confusing......

That's the office that comes with windows 10, it's the online junk/crap and the trial version of Office 365 or what ever MS is calling it now. I just uninstall that stuff. Then I install my office suite. I have Office 2016 Pro Plus. All is good after that.

I'm not sure how helpful your reply was. Are you saying this doesn't happen with 2016 Office Pro? I'm wondering if it's because Office 2016 has reached the end of it's life? Meaning that Office 2016 mainstream support ended this for all versions. There has to be some explanation.

I will not accept the things I pointed out in the images I provided. Hopefully someone can get to the bottom of it for me or I would have to get rid of my Office 2016. Which would be a shame, I barely used it!

Those 'tiny' icons are each application within the Office suite all combined into 1 tile, should be able to drag each one to their own tile.

But as mentioned, I also uninstall the included Office, usually is a trial version.

The only real issue I've had with Win10 is the twice-a-year Version Upgrades restoring/removing customizations so any I do I save the information for redoing them. Part of an Upgrade is rewriting the Registry. Uninstalling included features may see them return with the next Upgrade.

I figured out the issue thanks to Bastet. You have to remove the forced office apps from edge.

Type edge://apps on the edge web browser and just remove the apps. After that the problem is solved.

    For more info search,
microsoft is forcibly installing office pwa's in windows 10.
