Outlook 2019 Unable to view appointments

Windows 10 Pro, lots of memory, lots of everything…

    Office 2019 Professional

In Outlook 2019, email works fine. Until 2 days ago CALENDAR WORKED FINE. The ONLY thing I know of that’s changed in the last couple days is Microsoft shoved a new Windows 10 update out – 20H2 if I recall correctly.

I can’t view appointments. They APPEAR to open, and the appointment is sitting behind the Outlook icon. When I hover the mouse over the icon, both the outlook <thing with file and email and calendar and all that in is> AND the thumbnail for the appointment display. BUT I CANNOT make the appointment display on screen like it always has. It doesn’t “open”.
I've read a bunch of discussions that tell me exactly what'll fix it - none of 'em do!
    I’ve done the reset
    I’ve removed all the add-ins
    I’ve done the quick repair
I’ve done the NOT quick repair – which appears to have re-installed Office.
I’ve tried opening the appointment in a variety of ways.
AND, when I run Outlook in SAFE MODE, the appointments open.

    What do now?

And? I posted it both places presuming there will be knowledgeable people in both that don't necessarily overlap... It's sitting over there like a stump...

And it's becoming a big PITA not having appointments display without having to open in safe mode all the time, so it would be really nice to find some fix...

    Anybody?

OK, this is weirder than just MS Office... Last evening I had to set up a zoom meeting. Logged into zoom, created the meeting and started it. Instead of opening a zoom window it did the SAME THING Outlook is doing. The window is there when you hover over the icon on the taskbar, but it WON'T open...

Which leads me to what may be very incorrect assumptions of the B followed A so A must have caused B variety......

ALL THIS STUFF worked perfectly until about a week ago. THE ONLY change I know of on the box is I installed the new Windows update - perhaps 2H20 or some such. Some time shortly after that, things composted.

Is there any way this can be something bizarre like a graphics driver issue? Something that Windows did?

OK... I CANNOT say A caused B, but appointments continued NOT to work. I've been running in Safe Mode.

Recently, MS dumped another update on the system (several days ago), and appointments appear to work again.

May have been COMPLETELY unrelated - I'm not sure why/how they WOULD be related, but it didn't work, now it does. I sure didn't do anything to fix it, but at the moment, it's fixed.
