How do you change server/port setting in Outlook 365?

I cannot find any sort of settings for an existing account that I have. I searched around and found someone on the Microsoft forum that suggested a regedit, which I did, but nothing happened.

I googled this and found someone showing steps for changing server settings, but none of the menu tabs exist for me. Is there a way around this?

Go to Control Panel, Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016), click it go to "Mail Accounts", and chose the account you want to configure.

Once the account is chosen, click More settings....", "Advanced" tab. That will show the port settings you can change...

    Hope this helps :)

And there was absolutely no reason for regedit as you found out.

This is all that I have when I go control panel > outlook 2016 > e-mail account > click the account and click change > advanced

There isn't anything there. Is this the right spot?

Did you read my post? You have to go through the Control Panel as I stated.

Edit: You never said you were using an exchange account. That makes a difference and yeah, you can't access those settings, that's the account's IT department's responsibility. It's a security thing. And don't bother messing with the registry cause you don't have access to the IT department's credentials. And BTW I also have an exchange account and don't have access to those settings.

With that, may I ask why you're looking to change the server settings???

It's an email account that is shared between multiple people. I was told that the settings were being changed, so I was looking for the area that is similar to what you find for a regular account.

Well as said, you can't access that info since the account belongs to a company or school (thus the reason for it being an exchange account). Anyway the account admin should be able to supply you with the credentials needed should changes occur.

For all others such as IMAP/POP, yeah, go through the control Panel's mail account setting to access the server settings for the Outlook 365 desktop app.

Sorry I can't be of further help
