How to stop "end of support" warnings - Office 2010
I get it - I get it. Support is ending.
I don't care. Hate subscription software.
Is there a way to stop the big banner warning every time I open an Office 2010 program?

Apparently there is.....
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...8-9934b38393b7....I navigated to the registry, created a new key under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun called UpgradeAdvertised and set the value to '0' - problem solved.
...though later in the thread others say the value needs to be set to 1. There are more keys mentioned later in the thread.
I don't have Office 2010 so can't test this myself.
Yes I saw that. Problem is that I have no 15.0 folder or a ClicktoRun key. (Office \ 12.0 and 14.0 folders only)
Maybe I need to look further in the thread. I stopped reading after I couldn't find the key.
TV2,
According to the people who posted later on in that thread, the fix is in the page 2 post by roshanlal on 7th August.Bree said:
- then clarified / added to by his 16th Aug post at the top of page 3.
Just for future reference, if you ever need to check any Office 2010 Registry keys, they use the 14.0 folders.
[Office 2007 uses 12.0 folders and Office 2016 uses 16.0 folders]

Old thread, yes. But I finally got around to dealing with this.
Bree's suggestion works, you need to create the KEY and DWord if they don't exist.
Here's how:
- Navigate the registry to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office
- Here you will find a version folder. 15.0 is what most people say you will find. Mine is 14.0. It doesn't matter. Go to 15.0 or 14.0.
- Here you are supposed to find a KEY named ClickToRun. I didn't, so I created one.
- Under ClickToRun you are supposed to find a DWord named UpgradeAdvertised. Obviously I needed to create the DWord (32bit).
- At first I set the value of UpgradeAdvertised to 0. It didn't work. (I got busy and left it alone for a while)
- Recently I tried again, this time setting UpgradeAdvertised to 1. It works!
Hope this helps someone else.
