For clarification, do you mean that when you paste a link into Word, Word is creating a hyperlink for you and that you want to only retain the text without creating a hyperlink?

If so, note that when you paste text, a small pop-up should be presented with several options. Note how in the first screenshot below, if I hover over the option "Keep Source Formatting", then a hyperlink will be created. However, if I choose "Keep Text Only" (second image), a hyperlink will not be created.

In order to reinstall after you have performed a clean install of Windows, you will need your license key and your Office installation media.

NOTE: If you are using an Office 365 subscription, neither a key nor installation media will be needed. You can simply logon to https://account.microsoft.com and install from there. Note that you can deactivate your previous installation either before or after you re-install Windows.

I think that I will have to defer to others at this point. No matter how much I try, I cannot get Word to behave as it is for you but I suspect that we are using different versions of Word.

Just in case this becomes necessary, could you note what version of of Word you are using?
