Finally May update has installed but>>>>>>

    As above:

HP Desktop PC 2 years old, came pre-installed with windows 10 and fully upgraded, as of a few days ago.

I also use Office 2010 and have noticed problems and thought it was because it is nearing the end of its life. Documents were not saving correctly, and when I tried to re-open next time, it had not saved the 'end product' but was showing a saved auto save several minutes prior to my last save.

However, today I noticed that my Document folder is no longer showing. I have tried several online 'fixes' none of which help.

I tried going into Windows 'old' which shows the missing folder, but it is empty, I have checked views, hidden, and there are no hidden files.

Going into C drive to Users to find the Folder which is there but which refuses to open saying I do not have permission.

I am the only person who uses this computer, there is only one Microsoft Account, mine, and it shows as an Administrator account.

I have seen this is fairly common, but none of the fixes tried so far have helped.

Please be gentle being female, over 70 and disabled I only know as much about 'tinkering with ' a computer as I have needed!

I've never encountered that problem, but if the permissions to the Documents folder don't let you open it, I doubt that has anything to do with MS Office 2010.

What permissions are shown for that folder?

Ah, i am understanding, you are using Office Online on One Drive ?, so my Answer is wrong, excuse me, I'm from Germany and my English is not so good, have you OneDrive on your PC installed ?
Click the Folder with right Mouse, then properties, safety, and see what it says,
    look like this:

Thank you bobkn, Documents folder permissions are 'full' everything is ticked except 'special' at the bottom of the list.

Thank you catweazel, I do have one drive and it looks as though my documents folder is populated. I am using Word 2010 on my computer. I will try your suggestion now.
