    Paying for Microsoft 365

Our church is about to move to Microsoft 365 Personal for the 2 or 3 PCs it has/will have, all using the same Microsoft account.

The church has a bank account but no card, all transactions are either by direct debit (e.g. for broadband), bank transfer or cheque.

To pay for MS365 it seems that card details are needed. Is this the case? Is there anyway it can be done by Direct Debit?

    Thanks.

Credit card seems to be required (but can be expiring soon, or auto-renewal can be canceled immediately):

Credit card required for Office 365 – why?

It may be possible to conduct the purchase (cheaper) by some other means elsewhere:

    Hi there
a possible solution might be to get one of those "pre-loaded" cash cards VISA / Mastercard- they work like a debit card - you just top up with more cash when needed.

Should be OK for your requirements -- also reasonably "hack proof" since the only money that could ever go "missing" would be the amount remaining on the card.

Use your Standing Order facility to top up the card every so often so the subscription always gets paid at due date.

    Cheers

Our vicar has been on the case, he'd heard from another minister. Apparently there's a Charity deal for MS365 and as the church is a registered charity he's applied for that deal. For MS365 Personal he's got it for £2.30+VAT/month; totals £33.12 a year. I don't yet know how he's arranging to pay it.

I like the idea of a pre-loaded card, good thinking. Thank you.
