One Note (Office 365) vs One Note for Windows 10

I guess every one has the issue of TWO versions of One Note if they have both Windows 10 and Office 365? Is there any difference between them? Given that I don't really use either, can I at least safely delete the Windows 10 App version without breaking Windows or the Office 365 version? Or should I give my OCD a chill pill on this issue?

    I'd start with Chill pill.

If that doesn't work Image your machine so you can restore it.

When Windows 10 app installed it, as I recall, deleted my Office 365 version. All my data was present and I didn't give it another thought.

Again, I would Image machine using your favorite 3rd party tool and then proceed.

I don't Uninstall either one [NEVER just delete] as at this time I just don't use them. My main computer has OneNote 2013 [Office 2013] and OneNote for Windows 10, haven't check computer with Office 2010 yet.

I use OneNote a lot. Nice that it syncs stuff I enter on computer to smartphone so I always have info with me. The one thing I hate, it wont sort notes within a note book. Honestly it is 2020 and sorting is something computers are good at.

Are you talking about info place on a single page, or are you talking individual pages (more than one page)? Cause you can sort pages via the inverted hamburger dropdown button on the "+ add page" tab.

The choices are None, Alphabetical, Date Created, and Date Modified. But, yeah, not on individual pages.

Office (at least O-365) should remove or not install the "Office OneNote" app since the Windows 10 version is newer. And I say "should" because I've had instances of both apps installed under older versions of Windows 10 (and O-365).

Anyway OneNote 2016 (older Office version) is the one you want to uninstall if you must uninstall something.

    Good luck.

At first I wasn't quite sure what you were talking about. Glad I was able to help.

How does one uninstall "OneNote" that Office 365 automatically installs?

The other "OneNote for Windows 10" is easy uninstall/install through the Microsoft Store as an APP.
