    Certificate Error in word only.

Hi, thanks in advance for any help given. The less technical, the better.

Since doing a fresh instal of both W8.1 and Office pro 2016, I have issues with some website links, when preparing word docs.

They work in Wordpad and when placed in emails and forums. Only some links are affected.

Copy and paste a website link to a word doc and it may or may not work. When it doesn't, I first get the window saying Certificate Error and when that is clicked, another saying Cannot locate internet or proxy server.

    Thanks.

Have you tried restarting the router?

Yes, thanks wiganken, I have. Not for this specifically.
Anyway, it can't be that because if I put the same link in a Wordpad doc, it works fine. Out of 33 weblinks in the word doc only 5 fail.

Maybe the links are http:// links which are getting blocked because they are not the safer https:// links. A security thing? Just a thought.

If that were the case, wouldn't they also be blocked when in Wordpad on the same PC?
I figured out how to regedid and added the keys and Qword data as per your previous link. Nada.
These are two of the ones I have trouble with. They get the errors when used in word on the one PC but not wordpad or anywhere else.

Clutching at straws here but could it be something to do with Word Trust Center (File / Options / Trust Center) settings?

Other than that I am out of ideas.
