    Microsoft 365 and outlook 2007

I am thinking of getting Microsoft 365 one user. I already have MS Office Home and Student 2007 and Outlook 2007 installed.
Do I have to uninstall those before installing Microsoft 365 or can I just leave then installed?

You do not have to, but it is rather pointless keeping both installed, and inevitably something will conflict.
Besides, it is just a waste of space.

I guess I can import my present .pst file into Microsoft 365? I have many mail folders and sub-folders and after that works I will get rid of the 2007 stuff.

I suggest making a system image and a copy of your pst file[s] then uninstalling all your Office 2007.

If you have customised any Office 2007 templates, such as Word templates, then make backup copies of those as well.

You can then install Office 365 and, in the unlikely event that it all goes wrong, restore your image to get back to where you started.

MS used to allow one month trials of Office 365 before subscriptions started but I do not know if that is still possible.

I used Office 2016 for a year then ditched it and reinstalled Office 2007. There have not been any substantial changes between Offfice 2016 & Office 365.
    - Many of what I regarded as Office 2016 shortcomings could be worked around but not all.
    - Outlook 2016 user interface was awful - the Navigation bar gets partially hidden when you view the Calendar & it cannot display a long date picker all the way down the right hand side like Outlook 2007 can.

Last night my Outlook 2007 quit as the .pst file was corrupted. I ran scanpst.ext and it could not repair it. This happened sometime after midnight so I went to my backup .pse from the night before and put that one in. Outlook 2007 loaded correctly.
I then decided to purchase Microsoft 365 for one user. Installed it and it found my good .pst and got all my folders, mail and settings back. Woop De Do.
I guess I can install this version on my other PC's (Laptop). I remember reading how many pcs i can install it on, but forgot.
    Another question...
If I install my Microsoft 365 on my laptop, Will outlook sync between my Pc and my laptop?

I've just done the same thing which is to update from Office 2007 to Microsoft 365. It picked up all the emails, contacts etc from Outlook 2007 no problem.

The one thing I had to spend a bit of time with is the Address Book since within Outlook I use a mixture of POP and IMAP services and with these you cannot share Contacts and keep them in sync on another device.

The trick was to add the Outlook.Com account to Outlook 365 and since this is run through an Exchange server Contacts could be shared across devices. But first you need to copy all the contacts in your personal folder to the Outlook.Com account.

With my Android device I had to add the same Outlook account to it and then the contacts showed up in the Android contacts app. However Google account and Outlook accounts are seperate but there is the option to select show contacts from all accounts.
