    Dear Guardian Angel,

The above is perfectly working for me. Thank you for the post, but when I restart the machine search option goes to previous position, then I need to do the above steps again and run the Reg Edit to get this as normal. Why is that? Reg Edit i took from below link. Please help me.

    Hi ruwansanjeewa,

I don't know why this happens. ruwansanjeewa, If you looked at my last post in this thread (#49) Disable new search bar in Office 365, it seems the registry trick does not work anymore as Microsoft has disabled the option to do so. Try following the new way in the above link (if you want to) to bring the search bar back to its old location.

    Any further news for this?
Is there now a fix that works?

New way worked for me after changing the version to the following 12527.20988 "latest 2002 version in the semi-annual (preview)" channel.

With the version in your post i got a error "30183-27 (400)", which probably means that version cant be downloaded anymore.

you can find all related version numbers here

    Hi Guardian Angel,
Unfortunately, I cannot disable Outlook automatic update, as my company controls this option.
So, I cannot downgrade - it doesn't make sense ...
But great thanks for all your updates !

@Guardian Angel, do you have the latest instructions to revert the search bar back to its original location? I recently switched from Microsoft Office 2016 to Microsoft 365 and I'm not a fan of the new search bar placement in Outlook. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Is there a permanent fix for this. I am on Office 2021 and Outlook is the only app the search bar issue is present on... simply no way to kill it, no setting/toggle for it in Outlook's options/general/user interface and no reg file works no matter how I try. Any tip?
