Power outage while working in Wordpad

I was about 800 words into a Wordpad document I was working on then the power blipped. Just long enough to turn the computer and the television off. When everything restarted my document has apparently disappeared. In Windows 10 is there anything that might save that document somewhere?

    My version number is 18363.836.

Didn't see anything there. Most of that was if you were working on a document in a file. I was just on a regular blank Wordpad document.

The example for searching by .tmp keeps bringing up a file that the document was in. Mine wasn't in a file. It was a regular Wordpad document that I was working on. That's why when I tried the .tmp search it came up blank, because there is no file.

I never use Wordpad so I don’t have any hands on experience that I can share with you. Sorry I can’t help you but that’s all I got. Hopefully someone will con by who can help, good luck.

Ironically enough I was constructing a rather long PM to someone on a forum and I was afraid it would time out over there so I was going to do the Wordpad thing then just cut and paste it into my PM. But I ended up losing it anyway. Darned if you do, darned if you don't. But I went ahead and did the response in the forum and it did auto draft it as I was doing it so in the end I accomplished what I first set out to do.

Sometimes you just can’t win. I do all my writing in MS Word because most of the time if something goes wrong Word can auto recover most or all of a lost file. I’ve also learned the hard way to save documents frequently, especially if I’m working with lots of images.

BTW, if you can afford one you might want to invest in a small UPS. It will carry you over minor power blips and in a full blown outages it will give you enough time to save your work and do a clean shut down.
