    Office 365 ProPlus questions

Our company just upgraded to windows 10 with this software package and I have a couple of questions/issues that I am trying to resolve, both in outlook.

The add in group is not shown in the home tab of outlook ribbon. Most everything that I have read indicates that this should be shown when the software was installed. I think that I have found a way to insert it via the ribbon customization, but I would prefer to know if it should have appeared after the software installation.

I have created numerous rules to move copies of emails that have been sent or received from various contacts. Most of these function as intended, except for 1. The rules were created exactly the same with the only exception being the contact name & the folder the copy is moved too.

Any suggestions to correct these issues?

This is what my Home Tab looks like on Office365.

I'm not sure what you are asking for in your second question. You mention that a rule is not working correctly, but aren't really giving us any details of what it is.

    thanks for the reply

Your ribbon is totally different from mine. I am looking for the "add-ins" group. Within that group is "get add-ins", which when selected takes you to a listing of add-ins that can be selected to download.

Regarding the rules ?...…...I have really been having issues with the rules that I created. Apparently when created, the rules sync up between client & server, but if you make a change to one, then I receive a pop up box asking which version that I want to keep. The rules are pretty simple, I have created rules for people that I send emails to on a regular basis and another rule for those that I receive emails from regularly. The rules just move a copy of the email that I send or receive to that person's send or receive folder.
If I make a change to the rule, then they are no longer in sync & I get the pop up box to chose which version I want to keep. If I choose the server, then only half of the rules appear. The only way that I have found to get them all back in sync is to run the outlook.exe/cleanrules command. Then I start all over and create the rules agiain.

Why won't the rules sync after a change is made?

I believe that comes with certain builds. Are you on the semi-annual channel?

    Not sure on the rules

Try this (if you still have this problem..)

This is from Spiceworks forums- for Office 2016, bu could work:

    1. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
    2. Click the Security tab, and then select the Internet Sites Zone.
    3. Select the Enable Protected Mode check box, and then click OK.
    4. Restart Internet Explorer and Outlook. Now before you tell me you don't use IE,fire up Outlook, then look in Task Manager. Kill IE from there.
    5. Try now
    6. If it didn't work, enable Protected mode on Restricted Zone and try.

On the right end of my ribbon there is an up or down arrow. If I click on the arrow it switches between the two examples of the ribbons shown on previous posts.

I agree. I have Outlook 2019 and can see similar views. What the Home tab shows depends upon which view you have selected.

pparks1's example shows Home tab for Calendar view
Dude's example shows Home tab for Mail view
