Word auto starts at Win 10 boot

Since the recent update of Office 365 to Microsoft 365, MS Word is opening two copies every time I boot up Win 10 (latest 1909). I looked in start up and nothing there. I looked at Word options and didn't see anything. ???

Update. I can make it happen or not happen. After Word is closed its not deleted from Task Manager. If its not manually deleted the next reboot Word starts. If its manually deleted from the Task Manager then when rebooted it will not start.

It is some sort of bug.

I have it and I helped someone else with it.

If you go to Accounts in settings and shut off "Use my sign-in info to automatically ....

It stopped the issue for me and the other member.

I was getting up to four blank documents starting. Sometimes one.

This isn't a fix, more a workaround. Not sure if will hide issue for you.

Bingo! Fixes the Word problem. Excel and PowerPoint do not cause the problem, just Word.

I wonder how long before its fixed and if we will know when its fixed. I just got an Office update that included Word but that didn't fix it.

    Thanks.

FWIW, I checked my insider installation (dual boot on same PC as my production 10). Word, with latest updates, does not have the problem on the Insider installation. When Word is closed its removed from the Process list. Either a bad install (update) of MS Word or something in Win 10 (latest 1809 version)??

    Thanks for update.

Guess it will be a while for me to see a fix then.

Sorry about your issue but it reinforces my need to have the Insider Preview on separate computers than my main machine as recommended by Microsoft, programs and Profiles don't get mixed up.

Programs and profiles don't get mixed up on mine anymore than if it were on a separate PC. Even though its on the same PC (separate SSD's) nothing is intermixed with the production installation.
