My system is Win10/64 Version 1909 Build 18363.720. I have Office 16 installed and working OK. But when I run Windows Update it tries to install Office XP Service Pack 3. This fails with message Office XP Service Pack 3 - Error 0x80096004.
The fixes I've seen for this say to uninstall Office XP, but of course I can' do that. And I can't find a way to tell Update to ignore this update - whatever it is.
Can you post an image of Windows Update showing said files cause there seems to be something on you PC that's from the Office XP suite. You might also look in your Programs and Feature to see if there's something Office XP related.
It's odd that Windows Update would try to install an update for something not installed on the PC.
Also, for clarity, what's Office 16? Is it Office 365, Office 2019, Office 2016?

I couldn't find a Help/About option in Word, but what I have is not 365 or 2019.
I just tried again and it really does say "Downloading Office XP Service Pack 3" before putting up the above message.
According to the second image you posted it looks like Office 2016.
That said, you could perhaps ignore the update until you figure out the issue - Windows Update - Defer Feature and Quality Updates in Windows 10
Is it possible you have something from an earlier time installed such as a Viewer for PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc., or maybe an older Office application such as Publisher, FrontPage 2003 or earlier? I had to give up FrontPage 2003 when I went with Office 2010, the two weren't compatible.
Never hurts to get further confirmation one way or another, might ring a memory bell.

I got into messing with FrontPage when I asked a co-worker to design a photography website for me. His suggestion to me was he thought I could do it myself seeing I had a vision in mind and pointed me to FrontPage.
I did come up my design and uploaded a working site. Its been updated over the years to where it is today. Though I obviously don't use FrontPage anymore. Now the site is designed from a packaged template - Backlight 2. I'm using Bluehost to host my site.
Anyway as not to get off point, do hope the OP chimes back in to let us know if they figured out what the issue is.
I know this thread is a tad old... but this very same issue has just popped up for me in the last month or so. I've tried several times to get this to work. Each time, the system checks for updates, indicates it's getting ready. Then it appears that whatever needs to download does so and shows completed - 100%, but then it switches to "There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. Office XP Service Pack 3 - Error 0x80096004" and a button to "Retry."
Berton mentions several programs, and said he had to give up FrontPage 2003 when he went with Office 2010 because the two weren't compatible. I have MS Publisher 98 and MS Publisher 2002 on this Windows 10 laptop, and have had since I bought the laptop in November 2017 - they were among the very first programs I installed because most of my saved documents were created in one version or the other. Does this mean I have to uninstall Publisher for this issue to be resolved?
I'm not sure I know what Office XP or Office XP Suite is, and there's no Office 2010 in Programs & Features.

Microsoft Office is a suite of programs/applications. Office XP is generally the same as Office 2002, don't know why the two designations but maybe because of Windows XP at the time.
A bit of history: There was a Microsoft Works then the word processor application part of it was replaced by a version of Word, the new version was called Works Suite, both were discontinued after Version 9. After Office XP/2002 came Office 2003 followed by 2007 then 2010 then 2013. The version numbers of the individual applications were 2 digit [Office 2013 had app numbers of 15] and different from the suite numbering. Office 2016 was the first to have app numbers of 16.
