Removing Office 2016 pro from a windows 10 computer

Hello, there is probably a solution somewhere around but I will ask my question anyway.

I bought a Office 2016 pro licence and I installed it on my current computer with phone activation, it was activated and working. It's a 1 computer licence so I need to properly deactivate from my current computer to transfer it to another computer, the procedure I am using right now is not working.

    How to Remove License / Product Key for Office 2019 / 2016 / 2013 | Password Recovery

I am opening the administrator CMD then going to that address:
    c:\program files (x86)\Microsoft office\office16

    Then I did this:
    cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

It's giving me a bunch of information, the product ID, the SKU, licence name, description. and the 5 last key numbers for example: XFK5F

Then I proceed doing the following and including my last 5 key numbers between the brackets.
    c:\program files (x86)\Microsoft office\office16\cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:{XFK5F}

And the CMD replies a ospp.vbs error message:
"The last 5 characters of an installed product key are required to run this option. Run the /dstatus option to display partial product key.

Now.. I don't know what much I can do.. that's exactly what I did.

What should I do now..? The /dstatus tells me my licence is RETAIL channel, I can transfer that kind right?

    Thanks

Do not enter the curly brackets {} around the last 5 key numbers.

Let’s find the full product key for your Office 2016 pro license on Microsoft’s Store

I have Microsoft Office Home and Student 2016.
--- This is what worked for me just now.

    Go to Microsoft Support https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/
    Further down Select Microsoft Store
On the next page, click on Track your order from Microsoft Store
On the Track your order from Microsoft Store page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026719
Scroll down to Sign in to your Order history with your Microsoft account.
On the next page, I wasn’t asked for my Microsoft account probably because my account is recognized automatically.
--- In the left column, select your Refine options that apply to you

Following that, the details of your office product will show up
    Click on View product key/Install
Microsoft’s full product key shows up and you will be able to Copy to Clipboard.

I don’t know if it’s possible to accomplish your goal yet but I’d like to ensure your full product key is verified on your PC on which it’s installed on at this time first.
Hopefully it will and consider a method to accomplish your goal.

Your licence may not appear on Microsoft''s Store depending on how you bought the licence

Ah it worked by entering the number without the brackets! Allright! so now when I run Excel for instance I have the note that it's not activated no more and the features will stop working of march 8.

    This is the result.

    QUESTION:#1
Can I assume that this is enough now to install Office on my new computer or should I wait for the 8th of mars before the licence is really free from that computer?

    *** @MeAndMyComputer

I have no information about my licence on
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

    ***

The previous procedure I did to install Office was the following:

#1. Going to office.com/setup and logging in with my MS account
#2. Entering my Office Licence Key
#3. Then i get a specific downloader for Office.
#4. I ran the downloader and let office download and install.
#5. i ran office then go to activate section.
#6. Entered my licence Key and used the telephone technique, robt gave me 8 blocks of numbers for licence ID.
#7. Entered these 8 blocks and the licence was activated.

But now I already have the licence ID they gave me on the phone for the activation, I wrote it down in a .txt file, it's a serie of 8 blocks of 6 numbers.

    QUESTION #2
Do I need to get a new downloader from office.com/setup website or can I reuse the same downloader for the installation on the new computer?

    QUESTION #3
Can I use the same 8 blocks of 6 numbers the robot gave me on the phone activation or do I need to call again to get a new set of number because it's installed on a new computer?

    Thanks

It worked without the brackets now, thanks.

When i go see the account menu from excel, it's stated that it's not activated and it will work until 8th mars.

    Question #1.
Can I assume now that It's really deactivated and that is it safe to install my licence on a new computer? or should I wait after 8th mars to be 100% sure the account is free from activation on this current computer?

To install office I had to do the following:
    - Go to Microsoft's website and enter my licence key then they gave me a special downloader.
    - Installed Office with that downloader.
    - Then went to activate using the phone, they gave me a ID of 8 blocs of 6numbers.
    - Entered these numbers and licence was activated.

    Question #2.
Can I use the same downloader and ID they gave me on the phone previously to install office on the new computer or do I need to get a new downloader and call on the telephone a second time to get a new set of ID 8 blocks of numbers in order to activate again on the new computer?

I wrote down the ID they gave me on the phone, still have them.

    Thanks

windowz123 Unfortunately I don't know if Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 is transferable to a different computer.
--- You'll have to call Microsoft to find out if they will still accept the it on a different computer.
I did read an article once that the same Microsoft account should be used but it wasn't Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016.

There's probably a copy of the licence on your existing computer. Unless it has changed you have the right to transfer the licence to another computer.

If you cannot find the copy on your computer, see Read the Software License Terms for Office - Office Support which now tells you to look in
File > Account > About program name (like About Excel) > View the Microsoft Software License Terms

This is the general MS licence terms webpage which will direct you to a download of the EULA

    Microsoft licence terms

The form on that page is not working in Firefox or IE.

Thanks Try3 that's real relevant information, I read the licence agreement and found that specific note in it:

    b. Stand-alone software acquired from a retailer. If you acquired the software from a retailer as stand-alone software, you may transfer the software to another device that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner). If you transfer the software to another device, that other device becomes the licensed device. You may also transfer the software to a device owned by someone else if (i) you are the first licensed user of the software and (ii) the new user agrees to the terms of this agreement. Every time you transfer the software to a new device, you must remove the software from the prior device. You may not transfer the software to share licenses between devices.

According to the /dstatus of my licence, the licence name is a retail licence. I think it's good news. So from this point, I will also unstall the remaining unactivated Office from my current computer.

    That's a great start for today ((;

    Thanks
