copy outlook account info and folders to new machine (office 2019)
Hi folks
in the latest version of Windows simply export this .reg file and re-import to new computer / old one after a restore. I'm also using latest version of OUTLOOK 2019.
Use this if you aren't migrating from .pst files as 2016 and 2019 use .ost stuff which is different (although they can open old .pst files
here's the key you should use now for reg key export -- the old one in the NT file doesn't exist any more.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles
import that into the new machine, restart / start outlook select the profile, restart outlook and eneter passwords for the accounts.
updated -- ALL folders etc work perfectly on new machine !!!! all I had to do was simply enter password for all email accounts (I have 4) and folders etc restored perfectly -- no need to copy any .ost folders or whatever from the old machine. (IMAP BTW).
I think finally that the "Change / modify" outlook accounts after latest updates works properly again (Classical screens) instead of forcing you into "Idiot Mode" so if you ghave different logon ID / passwords on inbound / outbound mail servers it's fine again !!!
Cheers
