Copying from the web loses images in page recently

With articles I liked to save for later I used to use Word as platform of choice to be able to add my findings to the collected material later , so it was simple , select the page content then paste in Word and save .

Now lately Word managed to stab my back by making me save the page then on re-open i find all images in page gone blank , then now it even pastes as blank and have a hover tip that says if i use Ctrl+Click it may follow the link of the frame then give me a proxy / link not found error if i do .

Are there certain updated settings I am missing to apply here or this is just Microsoft downgrading our capabilities as usual on its path to become another android like os ?

I do the same but differently, in Firefox I right-click in the middle of the page and choose Save page as, in Internet Explorer I go to File and its Save or Save as. With both I choose Web page, complete. I end up with the .html page but also get a same-named Folder with added _files which contains the support files for the page. IE has an added choice of .mht, all the data in a single file but can only be opened in IE or maybe Edge but I seldom use Edge.

Google keep notes does it all simply some sites may have protection on that stops you downloading images as strickley speaking its copyright theft

No, Edge cannot open .mht files either. Some versions of Word can though. My Word 2010 can both save as and open .mht/.mhtml files, though some .css styling may be missing.

So bottom line , it became a normal behavior now not to save photos but if i managed to save a page as mht i can still open it in word and save it as document later ?

So far as I can recall it has been that way awhile now. Going forward the problem will be the discontinuing of IE as more and more Web sites have to change away from it.

Well despite being an iffy long process but one has to be thankful since it made the process possible again .

    Cheers
