Excel Problem With Old Office 2010 on New Windows 10 Computer

I'm just reading the procedures to check how you cope with the trial version.
- There must have been an account declared for 365 to operate at all.
- If you never registered it then I think it will be just Uninstall [but I'm still reading]

If you subscribe to Office 365 then all users on your computer can use the Office 365 applications.
- Office 365 also has a subscription option for more than one computer [I can't remember its name at the moment] and, in that case, all users on all the licensed computers can use it.

Yes, you can use
Control panel, Programs & features, <select the application>, right-click, Uninstall
which is the same as saying
Control panel, Uninstall a program, <select the application>, right-click, Uninstall
for the Control panel view you use. There's no need to refer to it as the 'Win7 uninstall option' as it's also the Win10 uninstall option - the initial confusion was my fault for forgetting how Control panel appears in other views of it.
- There are also uninstall entries in Settings, Apps that have the same effect.
- Personally, I'd uninstall both 365 trial and 2010 and then start again with a 2010 re-installation.

You're right.

I was getting 'Personal' mixed up with 'Home' and it's all changed since I last checked anyway. I went on their chat -
- My question - Does Office 365 Home cover all user accounts on this computer or only one user account on this computer? On
the same computer so only one user logged in at any given time.
- MS answer -
- - Office 365 Personal will already cover all of them.
- - The Office 365 Home is for 6 users but it is also for those that install it in different computers.
- - What I mean is the Office 365 Home is for 6 users and each user can have it in 5 devices each.

I'm still using Office 2007 because it has all the functions I need. With one exception, the developments in Office 2010 & later versions improve the use of Office for group working.
- The exception is that password-protected files in Office 2010 [well Word 2010, Excel 2010, I'm not sure about Access 2010] take much, much longer for hackers to crack using brute force or dictionary attacks. Whilst the difference has never been quantified, I know it exists & it is thought to be significant.

The bulk of malware seeks to exploit vulnerabilities in the OS. But targetted malware can be written for anything so out-of-date versions of Office are more vulnerable than in-support versions.
- I cope with this by not having any sensitive information in any Office file on the computer
- I have a password-protected Excel file on a USB stick that I only connect when I am not connected to the internet.
- That's as secure as I can keep things given my wish to stick with Office 2007.

And be sure to check the user's needs against the versions available, not all contain all the same applications, examples would be Outlook and Publisher.
