How can I find my Office 2016 license in my Microsoft Account?

    How can I find my Office 2016 license in my Microsoft Account?


    I first installed Office 2016 using the ISO. Then I signed in to it. Obviously since I haven't bought it digitally, it said it couldn't find the license. Then I entered the Product Key (bought from Amazon) and activated it over the internet. Do I always need to enter the Product Key in Office 2016 whenever I do a clean install of Windows 10? Doesn't it get attached to Microsoft Account like that of Windows 10 license? Currently if I go to Services and Subscription in my account, there's the expired version of Office 365 Home but no mention of Office 2016.

    Yes, because it's not digitally assigned to your Microsoft Account and why it requires a license key.

    No, only Microsoft subscription based products are attached to your Microsoft account(s).

    I have an Office 365 subscription and all I need to do is install the Office suite and log into the account and it's activated. I also have two other Microsoft Office apps - Visio Professional 2019 and Project Professional 2019, but since they aren't subscription based, I need to provide a license key for each product in order to activate. Additionally, those products DO NOT show up in my Microsoft Account, but Office 365 does.

    Take care of that licence key since it can be hard to find the number without using a special utility

    Yup, sure. Will never misplace it as well as Windows 10's Key, even though I have 100% faith on ShowKeyPlus.

    I copy all my license numbers to a master file. Been doing this for about 20 years now.

    I maintain a single text file with the keys and it gets synced to OneDrive.
