    Outlook 2010/Win7 account Transfer to Office 2019/Win10 PC

    A friend of mine bought a new windows10 PC to replace the 8-year-old windows7 HP old Junker he had to keep up with the times. I am in charge of the task in backing up his old bomb and transferring his files and folders and 3 user accounts to the new Win10 PC. On his new PC it will have Microsoft Office 2019 already preinstalled. Does anyone know the correct procedure in transferring his Office 2010 .pst file backup I made? Will it work with Office 2019.I got mine to work a while back when I went from Office 2016 to Office 2019.I first chose make a new .pst, put in all my server and other e-mail settings. Everything connected and my inbox started to fill up with 375 + e-mails. After that, I imported the .pst backup I made a day or so back and it put all my sub-menu folders with e-mails I saved back on the left column under the inbox. Is this the correct way in doing the transfer? It seemed to work for me...I have no clue if outlook 2010 .pst will work on 2019 though. Any help here with my task is greatly appreciated...

    Hi there

    @NIK1

    1) save the .pst file
    2) export the Office 2010 accounts etc to a .reg file --I'm sure I had a post on how to do this in this section a while back.
    3) Install Office / outlook 2019 on new machine.
    4) copy .pst file to documents folder on new machine
    5) imort the .reg file you created on the old machine into the new one
    6) open outlook -- it will prompt for a profile -- select default and make it default one. close again after setting to default.
    7) restart outlook -- you'll be prompted for passwords on all the accounts --but --job done !!! nothing lost.

    This link also explains:

    How to Export Outlook Account Settings and Passwords

    Note though after opening outlook after the original import -- CLOSE IT AGAIN and restart otherwise after setting the default profile the computer will appear to do nothing. !!

    Cheers
