Guys, I appreciate the repeated pointers, but I really did set it...... Here's a picture of the options on the system. Unless it's set WRONG in Message Arrival, it's set.
I ran an Office repair this morning. I previously had NO outlook.lnk in the folder:
c:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs - this is the folder in which I was told the Outlook short cut should go.
I DO, however, have links to ALL the Office applications in
c:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office
and AFTER the Office 2019 "repair" I NOW have shortcuts for everything ALSO in
c:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
What I still DON'T have is a desktop popup to tell me there's email.
FWIW: I just tested the brand new laptop, also running Windows 10 Pro - a month old so I haven't had time to screw up anything new... It ALSO has NO popup, and no sound on incoming email. And yes, I checked Message Arrival, and I checked the sound, which is email.wav, and so on.......
So at the moment NEITHER of the systems (I haven't checked the domestic associates laptop to see if her's is FUBAR'd too) in front of me have an incoming email notification.
I DID remove a bunch of the bloatware on these systems - all the MS garbage apps like Xbox and such, but this desktop has been fine for a couple years when running 2010, so why Office 2019 would be having a fit, I don't know..
