Outlook (Office 365) File to transfer to new PC

    Outlook files.
I plan on doing a clean install of Win 10 in the near future. I know about saving individual files, such as Contacts, Inbox, etc but I thought there was one file that had it all?

What I find in the Tutorials is just about saving individual files?

from outlook. Go to file > Open & Export > Import/Export > Export to file >Next > Choose Comma Separated Values > Next and export contacts.

Then Go to file > Open & Export > Import/Export > Export to file >Next > Choose Outlook Data File

After your clean install you reverse it.
Go to file > Open & Export > Import/Export >Import from another program or file etc.

Thanks but I know all that. I'm asking about ONE file that has everything. Older Outlook/OS had that.

Which outlook version are you referring to? The file you seek will depend on the answer as older versions use pst files, while Office 2016, 2019, and 365 use ost files. And their locations are different as ost file are placed in the user profile, while the pst files may be placed in the documents folder.

What I didn't see noted was whether your issue was solved. Was trying to help. And yeah, I missed the title.

    Hi folks

    @fireberd

(BTW jealous of your weather in Florida this time of year !!!!!!!!!).

With Outlook 2019 there's a registry thing you can use to export / import settings, accounts etc etc --- I'm sure in Office /365 it's the same.

    For Office 2019 export this

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles\Outlook]

    then re-import

Note on import you'll need to re-supply the password on each account.

Save any .pst files if you've copied email from server to local.
you probably won't need that since all the emails if you used imap will be on the server anyway.

For Office/365 there must be a similar sort of thing in regedit for profiles -- version probably won't be 16.0 though --you should get the idea.

    Cheers
