    One note

Re my attachment: you are right it is One drive and I will put my excuse for posting it as a seniors moment. I tried the right click and got to export my Notebook as a zip and extracted to My notebook with a zero byte file ".onetoc2".
Nothing has changed and I can still click on "Allan's Notebook" and brifly see the contents.
I don't know any one with Office, but the afore mentioned ".onetoc2" doesn't appear to have anything in it. My Notebook under Documents in Onedrive shows it to be 37kb.
I see in the info on Onenote file that it was shared in november. That is when the trouble started. One thing I did that may be responsible for my dilemma was to go through a procedure to load One Deive to a Linux OS. Maybe that procedure violated MS's privacy or security in place.
mngerhold thanks for your help; you went to a lot of trouble there; much appreciated.
I'll try the export later on my W10 OS.

I just went back and exported my file again (I had deleted from downloads), and the zip contains 3 files as per this pic:

AIUI, the .one2c2 is an index, but clicking either that or the 'quick notes.one' opens the file. So it seems like yours has been deleted? But you see it briefly ??? Weird.

If you start oneNote in the upper right corner are three dots. If you click how is sync set. There are two sync settings, sync all your notebooks and sync all files and images. If you shut off and then open notebook what happens.

    Interesting.

First I recommend having a Image backup before trying.

can you copy file on onedrive to PC.

Then go to store and get the Win 10 Onenote app.

With PC disconnected from internet can you open onenote file.

If that doesn't work can you connect to Internet and using Win 10 app open the file on Onedrive.

OK tried all that without success. All I get anywhere is the title of my notebook and if I click on that; get the grayed out contents for a second.

I keep coming back to your account being verified.

    One in Windows 10.

Start > Settings > Account > Your Info page. I don't use an MS account but it show verified in the area I outlined in green.

    OneNote contents gone-image.png

There is also a verification in outlook.com or there use to be. I can't find mine as I know I verified it.

Click on the initials or picture in the upper right of your outlook.com email inbox, then "My Account", then I would go through the panels under "Manage" devices and "Protect your account".

I keep coming back to this as greying out in my opinion is basically saying you aren't authorized.

I am signed in. I think I need a highly qualified MS support specialist and how do I get that? Thanks for trying Caledon Ken.
