    Clean Office 2016 update files

I recently updated Microsoft Office 2016 with the latest patches via Windows update. There were tons of updates. Like with Windows 10, I would like to clean the cache where the outdated files are stored, and possibly the registry. There are 4 GB of data somewhere on my system, my question is: where are the folders where Office 2016 update cache are stored?

I use two products, both free.

One Treesize - gives a great view on where space is being used and by what.

Second - Wise Disk Cleaner - can be quite aggressive, it does allow you to select what to clean in the way of data.

    Download both from their websites.

I use this. Will automatically find and either delete/move superseded Office, Windows, Acrobat, etc files that are no longer needed for updating or reinstall (orphaned files). First time you run it, expect to save many gb's of space. I usually save any newer than 60 days, then delete. Very easy to use and fast. - PatchCleaner - safely clean your windows installer directory | homedev - software development out of the box

Beware since PatchCleaner has not been updated for a while. It trashed my Office 2010 installation requiring an reinstallation of Office 2010. I use the built in Disk Clean and Wise Disk Cleaner.

I'm aware that there are two options to what PC finds-Delete/Move. I err on the side of caution in that regard. I never delete the 'unused' files that it finds. I move the Office 2016 and Acrobat DC files that it finds to my backup drive and store for at least 60 days before I delete. That's what I would advise anyone. Neither program has ever been affected on my computers. Thanks
