    Can't send emails from my domain

    I have an Office 365 Personal subscription and have attached it to my GoDaddy managed domain.
    When I send an email to any address I get an undeliverable message.
    "Generating server: AM5EUR03HT154.mail.protection.outlook.com
    <receipient's address>
    Remote Server returned '550 5.7.520 Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam. AS(4567)'"
    This is not the recipient's server blocking the message because it does this for every address I try including Gmail.
    I can't find any support on Microsoft's site and have tried Microsoft Answers.
    Trying a different domain seems to work ok.

    How can I fix this?

    Note I am using a domestic O365 personal account and not a business sub.

    I apologise if this is an inappropriate place for this but have run out of ideas.

    What did Godaddy say if you asked them why this is happening? You would need to have email service available with GoDaddy to allow you to have some type of smtp server for sending emails to start out. Just because you pay for Microsoft Office, has zero to do with using a third party service for sending and receiving email with some entity like GoDaddy.

    How to use your domain to setup an email account | Domains - GoDaddy Help US
    The mail service is being provided by Microsoft using Outlook.com (Hotmail) with a domain attached.
    Get a personalized email address in Office 365 - Outlook

    I have the domain through GoDaddy but they're not providing the mail service. Essentially, it's in addition to a @Outlook.com address.
    Apologies I should have specified that.

    Hi there

    @ajm

    Manually config the account for your mail sender from your domain -- you need to get into this via the outlook 2016 (yes it's still called that) from the control panel) and choose manual setup to select the mail sender / receiver servers that you have on your domain.

    Note of course you will need to have mail enabled on your domain -- this can be done usually from the cPanel (or whatever front end your domain hoster provides for domain maintenance). Usually there's a few email accounts you can set even on the cheapest plans.

    Godaddy itself from its own domain won't do the mail service but usually on these types of hosting services your domain itself should have an inbuilt mail server --again the cPanel or equivalent should provide notification of what services you have enabled on the domain.

    Cheers

    I have tried to use GoDaddy's built in mail service which is based on Office 365, and I was able to send emails from the domain which were being delivered fine after a DNS change.
    However, since switching back to my personal outlook.com account, I am unable to send emails once again.
    Is this suggesting that the problem is on Microsoft's end?

    Microsoft has zero to do with sending emails. It is an issue with the mailbox SMTP server settings in Outlook. You will have to set back up the mailbox in Mailbox in Control Panel.

    I've been using live.com for this so don't see how it can be an issue with Outlook 2016 unless I'm missing something. It had been working for some time before this suddenly started happening a few months back.

    After trying some things, I'm now wondering if it's because I was using a .xyz domain, which I'm learning gets used for spam. I tried another domain ending in .xyz and this now exhibits the same problem.
    I have tried with a domain ending in .uk and it works fine.
    Just seems odd that it works if I use GD's email service but not with Outlook.com directly.

    @ajm when you look at your email accounts in settings in Outlook 365 is your outlook.com email address in the format:- xxxx@outlook.com and showing up as using Microsoft exchange? if it isn't this is probably the cause of your problem. Whenever I've set up an outlook.com email address in Outlook 365 it's always set itself up automatically as a Microsoft exchange account and I've never had a problem with it.
