Office 2016 Installation & Email Settings

I'm about to upgrade my HP ProBook from Office 2010 to Office 2016 (32 bit versions). The safest approach seems to be to uninstall Office 2010 first. Is there a way of simply transferring the email settings (all IMAP) to avoid reentering them manually?

Just upgrade, it will be fine.

I just installed Office 2016, ran Outlook 2016 first to import mail settings then uninstalled Office 2010. However, I can still see remnants of Office 2010 folders left behind.

You will always see folders for the other Office versions, since there are items needed for backwards compatibility of documents created in previous versions.
