Can't print using OneNote

First off I have no idea what One Note is and why I have it. But tonight when I tried to go and print a Word Pad file, I got a blinking icon in my taskbar saying "Welcome to One Note".

It keeps asking me where I want to put the printout, My NoteBook, Quick Notes, other notes. Why am I putting a printout anywhere? Just print the stupid thing. I don't want to save a printout anywhere.

Before I've never had to answer any of this before printing. I hit print, it prints. Now if I even try to print an email or anything, it wants to go through One Note and this round and round of it asking where I want to put the printout and if I select say My Notebook it puts a copy there but never prints it. Hit print again, it puts another copy there but never prints. I can hit print 10 times and it will put 10 copies in the note book but never print them.

All I want to do is what I had before. Hit print, the printer prints it. I don't want to go through any other programs, apps, menus, anything like that.

Check your Default printer. I bet it is set to Print to One Note when you choose to print something.

Ah ok, I will check that when I go home for lunch today. But I know I didn't change it to that. Could some sort of update changed it?

Most likely it has been set to allow Windows to manage your Default Printer since the beginning.

But I've never seen that One Note thing until last night. I usually print one page of something per week to keep the ink cartridges limbered up and I've always just hit print and away it went.

Those HP ink cartridges are another issue as I'm getting the cartridges are installed wrong error message which is why I was trying to print something in the first place which again is funny because they weren't installed wrong when I printed something on Monday.....end of rant.

BTW, I did check just now and you were right , One Note somehow had been checked as default so I put the default back on the regular printer description. Now I just have to go buy new cartridges tonight to see if it will print
