is Office 2019 transfer to new Mac possible without knowing Office acc

    Hello,

I am having a problem. I bought Office Home&business 2019 for my old Mac. The guys where i bought it installed it for me and gave my Product key. Now i bought new Mac and would like to transfer my Office to new computer. I read that you have to uninstall from old one, then uninstall it in the Office account. But as myself did not installed Office to my old one I do not have Office account linked to my Product key. What should i do?
If i uninstall Office on my old Mac will i be possible to install it in the new one with the same product key, even though i do not have the Office account?

    Please help me

    Welcome to TenForums @egle

I don't have a Mac, but apparently there's an Apple tool to do this....

If you have a perpetual license, then you have to reinstall Microsoft Office 2016 on your old Mac. Then you can use Apple's migration assistant to bring the installation forward to your new Mac. It's the only way, as perpetual licenses are not transferable from one Mac to another.

    Hi folks

Never used a Mac but with non subscription versions of Office you don't need to sign in --- just install and enter the product key you originally had - retail stuff can be moved at will between computers --you might have to activate by phone because there's a limited number of times that a product can be activated. What is NOT allowed is to use one copy of Office (any non subscription version) with the same license key on more than 1 computer. You may of course make as many backups as you like.

Not sure of Mac licensing -- but I can't see why it would be any diffrent for Ms products (apart from the price of course-- All Mac / Apple users are assumed to be stinking rich !!!).

    Cheers
