    Office 365 business essentials

    Hello,

I have purchased the business essentials. So i can control my own mail domain stuff. But the big question for me is why is there not office included in the package. Is it something i can add to it?

This sounds kind of crazy but when I search it appears you get online versions of these apps.

Anyway if you find the MS link in your region I'm sure it has the support number you can call and inquiry.

This is from the US page.

    Hi there

    @sbh7600

can't understand why you need that package to "control your own domain stuff"

If you have your own domain - if it's hosted by a typical domain hosting service you'll get a mail server so you can presumbly set up accounts in Outlook 2016/2019/365

e.g say your domain is tastydanishbacon.dk

your mail server(s) -- might be the same but normally of the order assuming your domain as above would be mail.tastydanishbacon.dk

on your domain cpanel (or whatever the main control panel is --it's usually called cpanel on a lot of domain hosting services set up user account(s) for the mail server(s) - in this case both inbound / outbound servers are the same.)

    so for outlook setup :

The email address(es) would be account@tastydanishbacon.dk

    IMAP inbound mail server mail.tastydanishbacon.dk
    SMTP outbound mail.tastydanishbacon.dk
    User logon account@tastydanishbacon.dk

password -- password used for the account.

It's a bit tricky to find the proper outlook screens to get all the manual config these days but start outlook from the run command with outlook.exe /profiles and then you can get all the manual setup screens and options again.

middle button in Eng -->properties and then you will get the config screens,

The standard screens from within outlook are rubbish as they are all automated with very little user choice. So don't start outlook directly but do it via the run command as I've described.

BTW there are some really cheap versions of Office 2019 around currently -- provenance seems OK I got a few licenses from Amazon -- all worked perfectly, updated OK and activated OK so they all seem Ms legit.

    Cheers

I pay for the business package of Office 365 along with paying extra a year for my domain. The $5 package is for those who want Cloud based not Offline based apps. Comes in handy for those who may use tablets, mobile devices running ChromeOS, Android, iOS, iPadOS, Linux.

See this for all servers for setting up email programs and servers. POP and IMAP email settings for Outlook - Office Support

Thanks for the reply, the only control i have over my domain is dns stuff like anybody else. the mail hosting is something almost free and it's called MXHotel.dk the only thing they have is spamfighter. there is little we can do there.

so all in all i don't have a cpanel.

You could setup your own “Post Office” with say a Raspberry Pi.
