Thanks, I will take a look. I just did a complete uninstall, rebooted the computer and then installed it again and I am still getting the same issue.
Use any software removal tool like Revo Uninstaller and uninstall Office completely. Then reinstall it.

I just did a complete uninstall, rebooted the computer and then installed it again and I am still getting the same issue.

I looked at that article, but I have Office 2016 Professional and I don't have the images shown there.

I also noticed that now that I did a complete uninstall and reinstalled the program the option to do a repair from the control panel is gone too.

In the past the repair feature was available from the control panel. Just found when I went to Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & Features
    Scrolled down to Microsoft Office
    Select it
Clicked on modify and was given the option to do a quick repair or online repair.

So I clicked to do the online repair which takes longer (but hoping it was the better option)

Now I am just waiting to see if the issue is resolved this time.

Brilliant - offline help was apparently abandoned from Office 2013 on!!! So do you have an option to select 'Office intelligent services' under general? See https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...3-06099950eb1c

When I had to use Office at work, I always found the online help useless - with no index. So naturally MS decided to make that the only option! Forget people with slow or no internet access. Amazing they are still in business. And to think they claim it is so they can offer a better service.

The online repair is finally finished and after entering the product key the program and the help feature are working again. For the life of me, I can not figure out why the first time I did the online repair it did not work and doing a complete uninstall of the program and then installing it again did not resolve the problem either.

But at least it is now working again. Thanks for all the assistance :)

As a reminder - different versions of Office can behave differently from one another thus is it always wise to state / note the version of any software when troubleshooting.

Anyway I'm running Office 365 and F1 (Help) works fine here. And I see the OP has solved their issue. Good.
