Check this article, Option 2. from Office Support (Microsoft). They provide a link to an "uninstall support tool" that completely removes all traces of MS Office. Worth keeping around, if you work with Office regularly. Uninstall Office from a PC - Office Support.

Still how to remove preinstalled Microsoft 365

    windows 10 20h2
    Brand new laptop.
    Microsoft 365 need to remove.
Have installed Office 2019 which doesn't show, will be next problem.
Office 2019 shows in Progs & Features but not 365.
If I Search office all I get is Microsoft 365.

I have been through all the Micro$oft suggestions and most on this forum post.
I am blocked from access to PF/Windows Apps even though an Admin.

I cannot delete any 365 links since these are also barred.

Is this going to be a registry hack? Nothing else, so far, has worked.

    Hello @fopetesl,

Have you seen Steve C's Post #14 [ to give you an idea of the structure needed ], and also EdTittel's Post above yours?

It is ALWAYS best to use the Manufacturers built-in uninstaller [ if there is one ], but failing that, a good FREE uninstaller is . . .

     Revo Uninstaller - FREE

    About Revo Uninstaller - FREE:

The Uninstaller module is Revo Uninstaller ‘s primary feature for situations when a program won’t uninstall normally or when you have some doubts that a program has not been uninstalled completely.

Also when a program is uninstalled, often times there are multiple files, folders, and/or Registry entries left on your system, which can cause various issues if not removed. This happens more frequently than you might think.

Revo Uninstaller acts as both a replacement and a supplement to the built-in functionality in Windows by first running the built-in uninstaller for the program, and then scanning for leftover data afterwards, making it your best choice when it comes to completely remove stubborn programs, temporary files, and other unnecessary program data that is left behind after the standard uninstall process.

I find that when uninstalling software, Revo Uninstaller [ FREE ] is excellent. It has an option to Scan for leftover items after the initial uninstall [ using the softwares own uninstall process if one exists ] using an Advanced Scan option.

    > Website & Download => Revo Uninstaller [ FREE ]

    I hope this helps!

    I assume you mean Office 365 ....

Is it actually installed? In some cases it's just a programmed link to the installation site.

Yes you may be correct. Just links maybe but I cannot remove and they block me using Office 2019.

Note I already said Microsoft 365 does not show in Add/Remove programs, only Office 2019

Note that Micro$oft have renamed Office 365 to Microsoft 365.

Yeh, you're right. My bad. I've dumped 365 (after this last "Office" version) and haven't got to Microsoft 365 (another one of Microsoft's stupid naming decisions ... I would have thought they'd learnt by now with the confusing Outlook and outlook.com !!!).

If you've got access to re-install 2019, try uninstalling it then try to remove 365. Then re-install 2019.

1 In what way do they stop you using Office 2019? Are you just talking about its shortcuts being missing from the Start menu? If so there's no particular need to reinstall Office, just recreate shortcuts to it.

2 What opens if you double-click on existing Office files? It opens without any problem? If so there's no problem other than the shortcuts.

3 If you are going to reinstall then you can use
Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2019 - MSSupport
    or perhaps just
Repair an Office application - MSSupport
