How to completely remove preinstalled Office apps on a new PC?

I'm configuring a new laptop which comes with the pre-installed Office apps for trial. I've uninstalled these under settings but large folders in c:\program files\windows apps remain (see below). How do I expunge these folders from the PC?

I don't recognize the file management program in use [looks interesting] but I usually go to Apps [Programs and Features in Control Panel] and uninstall. The image shows at least 7 Folders that could then be deleted if they haven't been during the uninstall.

I do, it's TreeSize Free. And yes, it's very interesting - one of the few file management apps than can see into places others aren't allowed to look without the need to take ownership or modify permissions, such as the highly protected System Volume Information folder and, in Steve C's example, the WindowsApps folder.

Thanks, guess I'd better give it a look-see.

I used TreeSize Free. I have uninstalled all Office apps from all accounts - note these do not appear in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features.

Whenever you install / uninstall an app it seems to retain the installation file in c:\Program Files\WindowsApps. How do you expunge these large files without them reappearing? This seems another example of poor software engineering to me.

Steve- I used this program (Q-Dir) to remove all the undesired files in c:/Program Files/ Windows Apps. See this article.

On Windows 8.1 and 10, how to clean up the app folder, delete apps

The links above don't appear to tell you how to remove the apps. I think you will have to resort to Powershell and use Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage. The syntax needs some reading up. Or you could try Windows 10 Debloater - its a powershell script on GitHub. Its a bit daunting to read (you can, of course, just run it), and I recommend taking a system image before you pull the plug.

Before I found it I had removed most everything 'by hand' - and found that the files just magically disappeared from the "PF\Windows Apps" and "Windows\InfusedApps" folders some time after I ran the commands (or so it seemed to me).

I also noted there are several versions of the same app in Windows Apps (see below). Are these needed and how do you prune them?

    Steve,

Are you saying that you uninstalled using the procedure in Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10 - TenForumsTutorials but those huge folders remain?

The MS guidance is at Manually uninstall Office apps - OfficeSupport under the headings Newer versions, Step 2 - Manually remove a Microsoft Store app installation of Office and it looks, to me, to be the same procedure.
