How not to let senders know that I opened an email in Outlook 2007?

I received this message today. I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2007. Is there a way to prevent senders from knowing that I opened their email?

Use Plain Text and do not allow automatic image loading.

Your Outlook 2007 Tools, Options contain the choice of sending out read receipts or not.
[Unless you are corresponding with deceitful scum I doubt very much that they are using hidden active elements within your formatted email or any images to conduct tracking]

    Tools,
    Options,
    Preferences tab,
    E-mail options,
    Tracking options.

In the bottom set of three 'radio buttons' set either Never send a response or Ask me before sending a response.

    Thank, guys.
@Try3: I checked and mine is set to "never send a response". It may be just a bluff but who knows. I just want to make sure. Btw, whoever came up with that tracking feature in Outlook needs to have their heads examined. Seriously, Microsoft!?

@bro67: How do I do all that in Outlook 2007? The settings seems to be all over the map there.

Outlook, Tools, Options, Mail format tab, Compose in this mesage format - Plain text

Outlook, Tools, Trust centre, EMail security, set the checkbox for Read all standard mail in plain text

Outlook, Tools, Trust centre, Automatic download, set the checkbox for Don't download pictures automatically ...

It may be just a bluff
Send them an email to ask them how they knew.
