    Red Flag Office 10

I have Windows 10 with Microsoft Office 10 - 2001. Somehow I have red flags showing against a couple of my
e-mails. Can anyone please tell me how to cancel the red flag as I can see no reason for them being there.
    Kind regards,

@RonBin79 I've seen this at times, just hover the mouse cursor over the flag, right click and you should see an option to cancel the flag, this usually happens if the sender has flagged the message as important.

    Red Flag Office 10

Thank you gentlemen. I seem to have got myself in a muddle and have ended up with the attached. If I delete as offered, it seems Ii will delete all my old active e-mails so I am, stuck. I have already deleted some but managed to stop the process and have moved a lot of back to my "In Box". All I want to do is get rid of the flag and the flag status box at the top of the screen.
Sorry to be a nuisance. Kind regards,
    RonBin

    Ron,

You have changed your View to be 'grouped by' Flag status and need to return to another view to be able to see the individual emails. You can tell that you are looking at a group of emails by the 2353 items entry.

I agree that the first thing to do is to undelete the deleted emails and you seem to have done that already. Don't close Outlook until you have completed this.

You have a View menu/tab and within this is an entry Current view. The first entry in that list is normally the default view and is called Messages in Outlook 2007 and might be in your version as well.
1 If you clik on the first entry then you might get straight back to viewing by individual emails.
2 If not then you have altered the current view. Look in View, Current view, Customise current view, Group by. You will find that 'Group by' is set to Flag status. Just select None from the list and click on OK then OK to get out of it all and you'll be back to a fairly normal list of all your emails.

Flags & Follow ups will now just shown in their respective columns [if, indeed, you have set the Follow-up column to appear. I can see the Importance column in your screenshot - it is the column on the left headed !]. Flags can be set by the sender and by the receiver. Importance can normally only be set by the sender.

There is an Office section of this forum Microsoft Office and 365

    Ron,

By the way, you wrote "Microsoft Office 10 - 2001" It is always worth stating the Office version in full - MS Office 2010 / MS Office Outlook 2010 [which is what I think you have].

MS have used version numbers such as "10" fairly loosely. For example, I use MS Office 2007 and its internal version number is "12". By "10" you might have been referring to a much earlier version [MS Office XP?] and this could have caused inappropriate advice to be given.

Your screenshot demonstrated that you were not using MS Office XP but a version that was later than MS Office 2007 so I concluded that you meant MS Office 2010.

I do not know why your wrote "2001" in your opening line.

    Ron,

The view has been switched to / changed to a 'Group by' view. Clicking on it will not ungroup the view but will merely expand the group.

    Red Flag Office 10

That was a mistake, my fault. Very stupidly I use Norton Power Scan, never again!!! It has demolished quite a few of my active emails, three or four from this Forum so I still want to get rid of this Red Flag thing. Instead of having my emails in a daily state, they are now just in a long stream from top to bottom. I am not a computer expert by any means so would appreciate some constructive help to get things back to rights. I know there will be some critics about the way I have gone about things but as I say, I am not a very knowledgeable computer user so understanding and help will be very much appreciated.
    Kind regards,

    RonBin,

I do not know what you want to do now. If you have removed the grouping then you might not have anything else to do. Perhaps you could post another screenshot and use that to describe what else you want to get done.

By "Norton Power Scan" did you mean "Norton Power Eraser"?

Purely by accent blue strip appeared on my screen which said "files are marked as read?" so I clicked OK . The Red flag disappeared and all my email groups appeared back on my screen, also, all the files that were supposed to have been deleted. All is well, no problem. Thank you for coming to my assistance, very kind of you.
    Cheers,
