Unable to print properly with MS Office 2019

I have MS Office 2019 installed on a Dell Optiplex, it has worked well for some months but now has developed a ‘funny’ that essentially makes it unusable, I suspect it may be something I’ve changed but I really can’t figure out what…

I have lots of documents and when I go to open a document in Word it opens as expected. However when I click ‘print’ the preview is much smaller and it prints that way – much too small to be of any use. My printer is an HP Envy 4502 and I have both the printer and Word set up for A4. Incidentally I can change the size of the preview with the slider at the bottom right of the screen but that doesn’t change the size of the print.

    Any help would be appreciated

Check printing preferences (in Settings). Two possibilities come to mind..

    - you have set multiple pages per page or
    - do you have photo tray? Could be selected as default tray

AndreTen - thanks for your input.

    >>> Check printing preferences (in Settings). <<<

My printer has a 'set preferences' option and I've gone through the settings and everything appears OK.

    Thanks again.

Printing from other applications working fine? Print test page, or a page from pdf document

You haven't accidentally switched to "Tablet Mode" have you? Click the notifications box (bottom RH tray icon) to check.

So, it is something in MS Word.

Check Advanced section in Options and scroll down to print options. See, if anything odd is checked..

OK, check if Word has problems with printer. Print to pdf (or export to pdf from Word) and check if pdf file turn out right.

Normal Template sometimes gets screwed up. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...3-4d808a40f4ce

Also check scaling. Turn off automatic paper scaling - Word
