Question about Office 365 and Office 2019

I haven't used Office for decades but in this summer I 'd probably purchase Office 2019 because of local summer deals

I'd like to know. Could Office 2019 synchronize files to One Drive cloud?

Another question is - If it could, and I use the Office on public PC or PC of someone else, would it leave any "residue" of my files or context inside the PC after I finish using? What do I have to pay attention to when using Office on public PC?

I mostly handle files that are very personal which will include a lot of passwords and confidential business information.

That being said, you can use OneDrive safely from any device. Just remember never to save credentials when signing in:

When done with OneDrive, close the browser. Notice that closing a tab is not enough, the credentials are still remembered and re-opening tab gets any user automatically signed to your OneDrive. Closing the browser however forgets your credentials, any successive sign-in attempt to OneDrive will again ask the credentials.

Hi. Sorry I need to clarify my questions again.

First, I will not think about Office 365 because I am totally paying and using it without any sponsor. I also cannot make use of most of the features in Office 365. I am not an expert. As a result, one-time purchase is my best bet.

Second, Do I need to clear any cache or use private browsing when logging into onecloud in public PC?

I wasn;t very clear, but I meant if I am using the desktop applications of Office in public PC, will it leave any residue in the system locally? (The "public" PC I mean is actually not a kind of PC that will clear everything when logout, I am actually taking about a "shared" PC with someone else.)

personally I loathe all types of subscriptions -- but particularly be aware of that nasty new payment scam the Banks have called a Continuous Payment Authority -- this essentially means without a great deal of hassle you have to get the VENDOR of the service to agree to ceasing payments rather than the Bank --- You can with difficulty get the Banks to cancel (or just cancel the payment card and get a new one !!!!). If you have to pay for subscriptions use either a direct debit mandate or a standing order. Avoid those Continuous Payment Authority things --amazing how Banks always seem to conjure up new ways of separating customers from their own money.

As for cloud servers -- for the amount of data you are talking about and the type of data just save it to a local external HDD -- these things are so cheap at the moment -- why bother with cloud servers with possible Internet access problems just when you need to recover the data.

There's a time and sensible place for cloud servers - these days though with mega cheap large (several TB) HDD's for home users why bother with it.

You can get one of those small self powered passport external HDD's --4TB now for around 70 EUR -- for smaller capacity a lot cheaper too.

I've had about 5 of these cheap office 2019 deals --all working fine --no more money to pay out.

Like all these things it's obviously AYOR but if you buy from a well known supplier such as Amazon you should be able to get a refund if it does go wrong -- and pay with a Credit rather than a Debit card as in a lot of countries you are insured for your money if goods don't arrive, don't work etc etc.

Volume licenses aren't issued for individuals any more -- If you've got a VL version it's probably pirated. These days they are all "Click2run".

OEM trial versions get uninstalled if you install a "retail" version.

I have to ask have you actually tried installing Office 2019 or Office/365 -- seems too much like "Click Bait" or Fake News.

Perhaps you should worry more about the Space Program or the (quite fun BTW) Cricket team from the sub continent rather than give people B/S stuff about installing Office. !!!

Hi @Kari

I have been using the document / spreadsheet for OneDrive and Google Drive for years and everything is enough for me but I still want to get Office 2019 with the primary reason of being able to work offline.

Even though I am on high speed business broadband opening or shifting a document in Google Drive or OneDrive take a few seconds of waiting and loading in which I feel so frustrated.

I will always want to work offline completely, it will save me a lot of frustration.

That's why I want to know what I have to clear when using another computer not belonged to me.
