I thought anything Office 2019 was tied to Office 365, but I guess not. Anyway I've got Office 365 (Pro Plus) and I got the new icons....

Am I the only one irritated by the fact Publisher is the only app not to get an updated icon?

Probably. I certainly wouldn't consider it an issue as long as it was the latest version.

Sure, the OneNote icon on the Account page is updated but the actual icon, on the desktop, is still the same. Only Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook have the new icons. MS is a mess and I regret taking out a year's subscription for O365. I should've stuck with my perfectly working O2010.

I paid for a subscription because I believed I would have access to "premium features" which would supposedly increase my productivity. No such luck! I took out the subscription in early January and only recently got the Ideas function in Excel! Several other " premium features" are still missing. MS tells me that " eventually" they will turn up! Not even the What's New under Accounts is working! It's greyed out and unclickable, so I have to go searching the internet after each update to find out what's new.

I have about 6 months to go before my subscription expires and I certainly will not be renewing. I feel that I've been scammed and will return to O2010

My O365 has what I need. I have it installed on five devices which was a bonus for me. I had different versions on different devices, one device with LibreOffice, now one consistent look and feel.

    Hi there

EXCEL is probably the only thing that you could do better in latest versions of Office than 2010 -- and then only if you are quite a Power user -- Pivot Table handling is improved -- not that you couldn't have done it in Office 2010 but a bit trickier. (I'm on Office 2019 though not Office/365).

There's also better web integration to retrieve "In Play" or Real time data from the web - good for those who use trading (stock) systems and you can embed powerpoint and multi-media.

Most of that stuff though you could do with Office / excel 2010 although a little more difficult - and I really doubt if the average user is concerned too much about that. Also these days a lot of Stock brokers have very good free trading sites so unless you are a real geek with EXCEL the real-time data collection from financial markets might be of no interest either.

As for the rest it's mainly all sort of "Work in teams" - shared documents and that type of stuff -- not of much point or use for individual users who aren't on a lot of today's "Corporate Ball and chain 24/7 tethering mechanisms" !!!

I'm not sure either why I would need some form of built in Robot type of A.I (artificial Intelligence) to generate Ideas for me -- surely the Ideas Function is what Human Brains are best at -- once you've got an idea then OK all sorts of help in how to implement it / create the document etc etc -- but isn't it the initial spark of Genius that distinguishes humans from machines and animals anyway.

    Cheers

On one of my machines Im using Office C2R 2016 , its got latest ( nice) Office Icons .
On a second machine Im using Office C2R 2019 , its got latest Office -updates , but NO NEW Icons !
Something wrong , or how to fix the new Icons for Office 2019............??
I have the same issue and i have just figured it out, Microsoft has given the new icons to the 32 bit version only, and not the 64

if you notice the version number on the 64 machines currently its 1902, but on the 32 bit machines the current version is 1907, so we will receive it like later one.

    64 vs 32 bit updates

To be honest I'm a bit confused here because you're basically alluding that the 64-bit version of Office is not getting updated.

With that, ironically, I was trying to figure out why my 64-bit version of Office 365ProPlus was stuck at 1902, and still using the old icons. In troubleshooting I wound up completely removing Office and reinstalling again. This time I around I got the 1907 update with the new icons and thought all was good. It wasn't until I was about to challenge your post that I realized I instead installed the 32-bit version of Office 365ProPlus, not the 64-bit version I intended. So yeah, I've got the new icons, and the 1907 update, but it is the the 32-bit version.

Regardless, there are working and visual differences between 1902 and 1907 versions outside of icons so...., but I am now wondering if the 32-bit versions are getting updated, but not the 64-bit, which to me sounds extremely odd it wouldn't be updated. Would be interested to hear from others on this.
