Excel 2103 adding digits to column

Hi guys can I ask for a little advice please I have an excel 2013 spreadsheet formatted as a table

I have attached a screenshot to explain better

As you can see I have a rows of dates in the header row IE 12th 13th 14th and so on to the left of the yellow column but when I add the same dates to the right of the yellow column excel add the digit 2.

I understand it is telling me that's the second time the same date has been used, but is it possible to stop this please

    No.

It's not that it's the second time you use the same thing. It's that Excel doesn't allow the same heading label to be used for 2+ columns in tables.

You can get what you want by not formatting it all as a table—ie format as a Range:
Click Table Tools > Design tab > Tools section > Convert to Range

When you format an Excel spreadsheet as a table you are actually creating a database and the column headings are a data categories. For any database to function it must have different names for each category. Duplicate names are not allowed.
